What the £19 purchase includes

A personal-use licence to the MacKenzie Highlands first-edition web guide: 14 places and suggested approaches, sourced clan history and sept names, musical storytelling links, a journey planner, family notes, a personal journal and optional downloads of saved place guides.

The purchase price is £19 GBP, paid upfront once, with no recurring subscription or free trial. The total is £19, including applicable tax. Checkout is provided through Stripe’s Managed Payments and identifies Link as merchant of record under the checkout terms. Your bank or card provider may apply its own currency conversion charges.

This is a digital guide. Travel, accommodation, admission tickets, ferries, bookings, genealogical research services and later separately sold editions are not included. Links to societies and attractions do not imply endorsement.

How you receive access

Use the same email for checkout and sign-in. We email you a code to open your verified purchase. If you paid and cannot open it, contact support before paying again.

First-edition access: one-time access to the first edition, with no scheduled expiry or annual renewal charge. This is not a promise of lifetime hosting, every future edition, or uninterrupted availability. If permanent closure is planned, we will give at least 30 days’ notice and an opportunity to export personal memories, while honouring any refund or other rights required by law.

Payment confirmation may take time. If you have paid but cannot open the guide, use My access or contact support before purchasing again. Sign in with the same account when changing devices.

Your device and your memories

The guide runs in a modern web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Home-screen installation depends on browser support; this purchase is not an Apple App Store or Google Play download.

Your saved stops, journal entries, family notes, photographs and recordings stay in the browser on the device where you create them. They do not automatically sync between devices. Use My story backups to keep another copy or move them. Clearing browser data can remove them.

Offline downloads contain selected place descriptions and photographs. Music, maps, live visitor sites and the full planner need an internet connection. Third-party videos, links and visiting arrangements can change.

A 7-day voluntary refund promise

Ask for a full refund within 7 calendar days of purchase for any reason, even if you have opened the guide. Email phillarronmac@gmail.com with the email used at checkout and the receipt or order reference. No special form is required.

We will issue an approved refund to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the request; the payment provider or bank may take additional time to display it. Online purchase access ends after a full refund. Personal memories and previously downloaded files are not remotely erased; export memories before access ends where possible.

This voluntary promise does not limit cancellation rights, remedies for faulty or misdescribed digital content, or other mandatory consumer rights that apply to your purchase. We are not asking you to waive those rights by opening the guide.

After 7 days, contact us if the guide is faulty, access fails, or the product differs from its description. Any applicable legal rights continue.

Before and after payment

Review the product, price, checkout email and these terms before paying, and correct any errors. A purchase is placed through the clearly labelled payment button in Stripe checkout. Keep your checkout confirmation or receipt. These terms can be saved using your browser’s Print or Share options.

Use the same email for checkout and sign-in. We email you a code to open your verified purchase. If you paid and cannot open it, contact support before paying again.

Using the guide fairly

Your licence is for personal use. Do not resell the app or share account access. Your own memories remain yours. Photographs, crest artwork, music and linked source material retain their credited owners’ rights and licence terms.

Check official information before travelling. Place descriptions and folklore do not establish an individual’s ancestry. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Read our privacy and device-storage information for how purchase records, sign-in and local memories are handled.
